The bombers - Catalan for firemen - are protesting right under my windows. I am not really sure what it is about, but I sure as hell want to find out now (I guess that’s the whole point of staging protests). Sirens are going off, someone is setting off firecrackers, and a helicopter is hovering right over my building.

Yes, I’ve been meaning to write about this for some time. My office is just opposite the Can Dragó fire station and they’ve been “en lluita” for weeks now. Nearly every day, they paint something on the wall (generally “bombers en lluita!”) and nearly every day, the city works dept. come to scrub it off.
I’ll try to get some more pics for you tomorrow.
It seems like the “Bombers” in Barcelona are the first fire department constitued in Spain and yet they are the less paid…
